Theo Anest--Executive Director and Guide

Theo’s degree from Colorado State University is in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources: Recreation Tourism. His degree involved courses in Natural Resources-History and Policy, Event and Conference planning, Tourism Planning and Impacts, Public Relations in Recreation Tourism, Marketing, Management, Business Law, Accounting and many more courses directly related to the services he will provide Fly Fish for Life. Prior to attending Colorado State, Theo earned a scholarship to play College baseball at Division 1-Belmont University and was a member of the Atlantic Sun All Academic Team. He has served as a Double Angel Foundation Volunteer, and a Young Life volunteer leader. He has also worked as a Colorado State University student fundraiser for a program that promotes alumni donations. Within fly fishing, he has been a Reel Recovery Volunteer, and volunteered his services to Hooked on a Cure. Theo has been an Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide since 2006,with five Colorado Master Angler Awards to his credit. He was named Fly Fishing Outfitters Rookie Guide of the Year in 2006, and was part of the guide staff that helped earn Fly Fishing Outfitters the prestigious honor of 2007 Orvis Endorsed Outfitter of the Year.  Theo has amassed the required amount of miles and hours rowing to earn the status of a Colorado registered trip leader (500 river miles) and a Colorado registered rowing instructor (1,500 river miles). In 2007,he was a finalist in the Teva Mountain Games. He has also completed  extensive courses to earn certification in Wilderness First Aid and CPR.



Nick Williams--Public Relations Director and Guide

Originally from Boston, Nick moved to Colorado in 1990 where he attended Colorado State University. 18 years later,  photographing and reporting fly fishing conditions around the Rockies has become his passion.  In 2004, Nick co-founded Fly Currents Inc.  To date, Fly Currents has become the most comprehensive site of fishing reports, and photos of Western trout rivers.  In his endless quest to keep the content of Fly Currents “current,” Nick has become a well known face in fly shops across Colorado and the West.  His experience in photography and his long established reputation in the fly fishing industry makes Nick a valued asset to Fly Fish for Life as the Public Relations Director and as a guide.


Mike Anest- Event Director and Guide

Mike has is a true Colorado native having lived in the state his entire life.  He has grown up fishing for both warm water and cold water species in Colorado. Mike has guided on the South Platte River while pursuing his degree in Construction Management at Colorado State University. Mike has worked as an assistant event coordinator at a private golf country club.  Mike also has extensive experience in web development and founded Pikes Peak Web Solutions in 2005.  His versatile skills in business, management, web development and as a guide make a great addition to the Fly Fish for Life staff.
